Preserve the beauty of your handcrafted piece for years to come.
Wood is a living material — it breathes, shifts, and responds to its environment.
With a little care and attention, your handcrafted item will age gracefully, developing character and lasting for generations.
🔪 Cutting Boards – Care Guidelines
What to Do:
Always wash with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly with a towel — then let it air-dry standing on its side.
Condition the board regularly with mineral oil or cutting board conditioner:
If board is used: after 2-3 uses and when board starts to dry up.
If board isn’t used: after every few uses or when it feels dry.
Apply oil to all sides and edges — not just one side — to prevent warping from uneven moisture levels.
Store the board flat with feet or upright on its edge in a cool, dimly lit place.
What to Avoid:
Do not soak in water
Never wash in the dishwasher, place in the oven or microwave, or use as a hot plate.
Do not use edible oils like olive and sunflower oil, only beeswax and/or mineral oil
Keep out of direct sunlight to avoid fading
